Any reason that the headphone setting in SB Liveware sucks?

When I set it to Headphones, rather then 4 speaker, the sound is lower, and seemingly lower quality.
Is something wrong?

Dude, I posted this too, and no one gave a sh*t ;) I noticed the same thing, it sounds worse and there is no bass.

Never noticed myself, when I need to use headphones, I just plug em' in to my speaker jack or CDROM. Sounded ok to me that way

It's kinda lame...Anyone have a SQ2500? Is the headphone setting on it better?

The solution is to not use the headphone setting. I found the quad speaker setup to sound the best with headphones.

This might be a stupid question, but did you go back into the surround mixer and reset all the levels?
Every time I change from 4 speaker to 2 speaker or headphones, I have to reset the mixer settings as they always get set to the middle . I also have both digital and analog cables from the CD to the SBLive and whenever I change to headphones, it sets the input to analog.
Hope this resolves your problem.

I noticed that too, thats anohter thing, if when you swittch the output if it is going to reset the mixer, it should automatically save the mixer settings for each output choice. But no that isn't why headphone sounds horrible

Could it be that you have never installed the additional voices and presets for the headphones?
Click Start/Programs/Creative/Speaker Preset setup/ and select the options you desire.
