I think the MX700 was rated pretty good for games by Maximum PC though, so of course mice may well be getting better for heavy duty game playing. I guess if it's light gameing, or more browsing etc, there really is no reason not to go wireless.

that was true for the first gen wireless, but not so anymore with logitech's MX series (the send/recieve time has been upped, it will send the data a lot faster and a lot more often now). i have the mx700, works wonderfully. yes, its a lil heavier, but you can remove the weight in it if you wish, but after a bit, you will like the heavy feeling more so.
as far as surfing on the TV, you do realize that text on a TV is horrible? if you watch like TechTV, they will us plasma and other big screen TVs to display stuff, but they also have $1000's plus in equipment to make it look that well. i believe the ati all-in-wonder does a 'decent" job. just fyi.

P.S. for gaming, rock on, works great.
EDIT: i just tested the MX700, i got a good 12', if not 15' in range.
