Any reason not to buy an old cinema display?

My wife would like to dock her mac book air and I'm considering getting a 23" old school cinema display (dvi, model A1082 as an example). There are hundreds of grade B's on ebay for less than $100 - aside from needing an adapter for mini display to DVI, is there any reason not to go this route? I know new monitors can be had for $160 but I like the stands and aspect ratios on these.

She'll just be using photoshop, no gaming.

Yep, docking a 13" MBA to kB mouse and wacom for amateur manga drawing. shes doing it for fun and ergonomics rule, color accuracy is secondary. my aoc 23 inch was deemed to small and sits too low on the desk. A grade b 30 inches on eBay is mighty tempting. Let's say under $270 budget. Used is fine

They can run hot and you might find a better price for a better quality IPS screen. Plus the gloss. Ugh.

Thanks for the feedback - after some digging I'm finding cases of random failure, and buying a monitor that fails after a few weeks/months without a warranty seems silly. Purchased a 25" hp ips monitor for $110 new with warranty, can't complain!

The Apple Cinema Display was incredible when it first came out. But the industry has caught up and you can get great screens for not much money these days.
