Any reason not to buy a Seagate 7200.10 Perpendicular HD?

I just purchased a 7200.10 320GB Seagate and think it's the best bang for the buck when you consider the excellent reputation of Seagate for quality and reliability. I got it for $95 shipped. I haven't had much time with it (Just got it two days ago) but, so far I haven't noticed any loud noise from it. My other drive is a Samsung Spinpoint 160GB which I bought for it's reputation for silence.

I agree...the last 2 Seagates I bought were great drives but the loud seek noise drove me nuts...

That's strange because Seagates are considered one of the most quiet drives.

Not recently they haven't been. They were the best when the 7200.4 line was around, but they stopped paying attention to it and other brands started using FDBs...

Right now the spinpoint range is pretty much the quietest around. Some 7200.10s are supposed to be great, some awful, seems to be pot luck. (I may be trying my hand at that pot luck thing some time in the future.)

I have a 7200.10 in a relatively quiet system, all Yate Loon 120mm case fans, and I don't notice the drive noise at all from 3-4 feet away. Up close I can hear it making a soft scratchy noise when it seeks, like a pin going back and forth across a chalkboard.
