sounds like you've made your decision already

i'm currently driving a 2006 tsx w/navi and like it so far. i do wish it had more power because when you have a few people in the car, it really slows down.

But as was said, it is used, not new.

there's no way a 05 g35 will go for only 25k

Check ebaymotors. There's a couple 2005's there for 25k-26k. At least *listed* as a clear title.

IMO the tsx looks better
I agree there as well. The front-ends are almost identical, but the back end of the TSX looks better.

I like the TSX... but I really feel it's overpriced for what you get. For the same price you can get a Nissan Altima 3.5SE-R fully loaded. Which by the way you will find much roomier than the TSX and sure as heck more powerfull.

-Max
Problems with the Altima:

1) Looks. I doubt you'll find anyone that thinks an Altima looks as good - especially inside - as the TSX, unless you get the SE-R version, but then I'm adding another $1,000. Plus, inside, the TSX is leaps and bounds ahead of the Nissan IMO, partly (but not solely) because of that orange lighting.

2) Ride quality. I know it has more HP, but it has torque steer like MAD. Even outside of that I thought the overall ride of it was fairly pathetic, but of course, that's just MHO.

3) Room. Less room than the TSX, and no I'm not joking. I think the seat goes back just a little more in the Nissan, but the dash comes out funny on it. My knees rest in a little nook, and it's not very comfortable. This was the ultimate reason - as this was the only other car that I've driven that I can fit in with a sunroof - that I ruled it out.

4) Sound. Doesn't include an MP3-compatible changer, or bluetooth.

Just fyi, I'm not just shooting down every idea that people throw out, but I've driven a LOT of cars, and already know about them.

Fair enough... I just thought I'd suggest it... as a big guy myself (6'5") I had an 03 Altima and was amazed by the roominess it offered.

Not sure there's much else in your price range to look at...

Maybe the Subaru Legacy GT? but I think space would be an issue there as well.

- Fit and finish of the interior is twice as good (orange = ugly, blue/white = nice)
- One-touch remote window button rolls the windows down before you even get in the car on sunny days so it can vent (yeah, it's small, but you know you'd use that feature)
- Bluetooth connectivity (big for me)
- MP3-capable 6-disc changer

Also, a very small thing, but I think it's much nicer the way the shifter is on the TSX. On the Altima, you have that ring you pull up on to get into reverse, and it bugged me. Mind you, I formed that opinion before I had say in ANY other 6-speed manual car, and before I even considered an Acura.

Finally, I think the resale value of this will be better, and while Nissans are reliable, I personally rank Toyota and Honda above all others.

I don't fit in a G35. Already tried. :(

I hope nobody ever rides with me. I told the dealer - when he was pimping the comfort of the rear seat - that I'd be more inclined to buy it if it had spikes on the back seat.

Also, on the power, I'm currently driving a 2000 Monte Carlo LS with 180HP (but more torque than the Acura), and it's fast enough for me. Having a manual will basically equal these cars out.

I totally appreciate the suggestion. Please don't misunderstand: I'm not trying to bash people's opinions, I'm just seeing if someone will disagree with me and make me see the light on another car. The Altima wasn't a bad fit, but not quite as good as the TSX, or even a Maxima (Maxima console edge is straight down, no bump).

The only reason you shouldn't buy a TSX is you'll regret the time you spent without it.

Yeah, but the ~$6k puts it out of my range. This is right at the limit of what I'd pay.

A lot of people that want you to dump 6k, dont even have 6k themselves.

Thank you both. Some encouraging words before a ~$27k commitment is always nice to hear. ;)

Nope, the CD player in the TSX does not read MP3's. Not even in the '06 models.

I find the TSX to be better looking than the TL, and handles a lot better due to less weight and no torque steer.
The 205 hp is more than enough for me (but keep in mind I'm coming from a 115 hp car), and with the 6 speed, it's especially sweet.

The only thing I liked more on the TL (besides the obvious... power/engine/stereo), was softer leather (though I hear it wears rather quick), one touch moonroof, auto-tilt mirrors on reverse.

The TL is built in the US and is more prone to rattles and build quality issues (read the forums on AZ).

Heh, you'll all get pics when I get it. ;)

The only color scheme they have available that I like is dark grey with black leather interior. I would kind of like the dark blue with the tan leather interior, but it's not THAT much better.

No worries. I drove a little slower in my TSX on the way to work, admiring how good of a job I did washing and detailing it last night.

Right, it's an option. It's already been figured in.

BTW, I just priced it out, and unless I'm missing something, they're giving me invoice pricing with $200 off the options I'm getting (just small things, with the MP3 option being the largest item). STUPID good deal. I'm sold.

Why would you add this option? It takes up some very valuable storage space and it does not seem like a good value to me. Congrats, you may be the only person in America that will own one. You do know that the 06 TSX has a nifty built in audio in port right?

Dang! I just realized I'm getting a ridiculous deal!

$26,051 - Invoice + delivery
$459 - MP3 Option
$140 - extra (some small options, and probably some mark-up)
($3,500) - Trade-in
-------------------------
$23,150
