I'm thinking of replacing my setup with a very cheap NLX deal I've just about ironed out. I'm no power user and won't be playing games any more (I hope!) so even the integrated video should be plenty.
I will, however, be plugging in my SBlive card... I thought that 3 PCI/2ISA is a lot of bandwidth to go through that one EISA slot for the riser. See what I'm thinking here?
If I plug in too many cards (Network, sound, modem) will I run into problems?
This is only for 1.5 years... once I get my programming degree I'm sure I can afford a monster setup.
Then again, maybe I should keep looking for a desktop ATX case like the ones we found earlier...
(But man do I have a good deal on an NLX board + desktop case! Barely $35 US! Private deal though... no links.)
Is it so bad it should be avoided at all costs? Even for a simple workstation?
All the big boys use these, you'd think they'd be okay...
