Any real good step by step computer put together guides that shows the processor heatsink install for a socket 939 ?

I swear google is useless on this one. . .

There use to be a ton of guides for socket A and socket 7 - I can't find anything for 939 or 754 or if I find it, they just kinda gloss over it.

That's because a lot of the enthusiasts heatsinks nowadays have their own mounting hardware. Not like before with Socket A where almost all of them used the clips on the socket.

What heatsink are you putting on?

Just the stock one in the box from AMD. . .

😛 The reason you cant find any guides for stock 754 and 939 HSF installations is because its soooooo damm easy. They've really got a good system for mounting the stock hsf's.

All ya do is line the hsf clips up with the ones on the board, sit it on the cpu, latch the side that doesnt have the lever in first, then push the other side down untill the opposite sides latch clicks in place. Then you just flip the leaver...and your done 😀

Make sure your HSF has some sort of thermally conductive material on the bottom (eg. thermal paste, thermal pad). You should also verify that the HSF has been seated correctly...although the HSF wouldnt have mounted on properly if it wasnt seated correctly. This is a very easy task...if you ever have to use any noticible force, stop and check that everything is seated correctly.

Just the thread I was looking for.......

Am currently to the part where I swing the black lever down. It seems to not want to move at all, I feel like I am bending plastic. Is this normal, or is supposed to go in nice and easy?
