I did back in good ol' 1995.
Now I'm too old and pay a price for the large amounts of drugs I did back then.
XTC has ruined my short term memory.
But damned if it wasnt worth it.
w0000000t!!!!
Best years of my life. 95 was the end of the love years so when we came in we got the low down from the older generation leaving the scene.
95-00 taught be alot about the world and myself, and I thank god I survived it in one mental piece.
00 When I finally got out; it had gone bad for the scene, way too many meth freaks and the pure stuff wasnt pure any longer. When I saw 2 kids get in a fight at a party, I knew the fun was over and no amount of love could bring it back.
You kids missed the good stuff. Back when the good DJ's could be had for $1000. I remember doing lines 1 table over from Cokenfold(<hehe) and watching Kimball Collins spin at a country western club in Charleston SC.
I also remember the best mixes were on tapes, and if you had a trance cd you would be laughed at.
I remember the emergence of Jungle 95-96, and how big and fast it grew in the south.
I remember a Halloween party in Ashville NC; me and my best friend stayed in the same hotel as SoulSlinger and MC TC Islam, and then laughed at them in the morning when they tried to make a scene so that we knew who they were.
I remember that stuff.
I do not remember what happened this morning or 5mins ago.
Its the price I pay for the other memories, and I would do so again w/o hesitation.
Now: I still listen to the music, although I stopped listening to trance since it went so mainstream/pop.
Right now I'm still on my D n'B habit I started way back when. If you get a chance pick up Andy C's new album"Drum and Bass Arena Vol 2", its some proper english D n'B.
