I just built an and FX 6300 I'm using a Fractal Core 1000 case. The 92mm fan I bought is stupid loud. Any suggestions or can I simply use the side 120 mm fan for something more quiet?
I'm using the on board graphics and currently no mechanical drives, stock cooler. Do I even need more than a front fan?

Look here for 92mm fans. Noiseblocker or Noctua ones should offer decent performance with its noise output. You could use the low noise adapter that comes with Noctua fans to lower its speed and noise.

Then it could be the 2800RPM Zalman fan. Downvolting it should make the noise bearable

Just undervolt it. Any fan is going to be loud at high speed, and any fan at high speed is going to push a ton of air. Any fan that is quiet, is going to be slower, and is going to push less air.

Granted, certain fans push slightly more or less air at a sound level, or conversely are louder/quieter at a certain air or static pressure level, or have more or less static pressure per air flow, but generally speaking if you want a quiet fan, just reduce it's speed.

It's easy to undervolt a fan. Just swap the 12v yellow line on the 5v red line, you can use a xacto knife to push each side pin while slightly pulling on the pin, and it'll come out easy. You can also just use a fan controller which are super cheap, or just plug it into your mobo which should be able to control it.
