There any QuiBids shoppers or Penny auctioneers here? I'm trying decide if it is worth the time and money trying to buy any items.

Any advice from those that do?

Its gambling, and the worse part is that there is a rumor with these kinda websites have an automated bidding system if something is priced too low.

Cant hurt to try it if you want, no like you are gonna lose anything. I doubt people are going to get killer deals from here though

I did 10 minutes of google research and found enough info to convince me never to use a penny auction site. Search "quibids trap page".

Quibids costs 60 cents per bid, and a bid only drives the auction price up by one cent.

Supposedly there are some people who specialize in this. Since you only bid it up by 1 cent, it's got to be hard to figure out how much to bid to get the item. Also you have to pay the amount you bid too. So if you made 10 bids and got the item at $20, you have to pay 10 * $0.60 = $6 + 20 = $26. I think sniping on ebay would be a better deal and less work.

Can you snipe on Qubids?

No sniping - auctions are extended by 20 seconds if there is less than than left in the auction when a bid is placed.

Everytime someone/something bids, it resets the timer on the auction. It has a 10/30/60s timer so if you try to snipe, it just resets and someone does it to you.

... someone should hack one of these websites so that their bid does not reset the timer and no one can bid after them.
