Just wondering...I've worked at Publix #175 (Gainesville, FL) for nearly a year now..currently an office cashier, occasionally working in the back office at night.

I just got a raise..to a whopping $6.25/hr! :Q

Are there any Trader Joe's in your area? If there are I would apply there for a job they offer $7 /hour to non-experienced so you could probably make $8.

I worked there in High School, for like $4.15/hr, a LONG time ago.
My step Dad retired from Publix after 32 years, like 4 years ago. He's set for a LONG time, stock options r good. :p

My youngest brother works at a Publix in West Orlando. In the bakery, I think. Makes either $9 or $10 an hour.

We love Publix!! We do ALL our grocery shopping there. The prices are higher, but the stores are usually nicer than the competitors. With the prices Publix charges--it should be paying you more. :|

I miss HEB Central Marketplace in Austin . . .

There's like 6 Publix's in Gainesville, it's nuts

I worked for Publix during my senior year of high school as a bagger. I didn't like working there because me and this other guy were the only ones that did any work (they were afraid of discrimination lawsuits if they fired the other guys), so they assigned all the closing duties to us. About once a week they gave me *all* the duties (mop the entire store, clean the bathrooms/breakrooms, etc). That's why I find it odd that Publix was rated one of the top 100 companies to work for in one magazine (Fortune or Forbes, I forget).

Yeah..they're all over the place.

1: 39th Ave
2: Hunter's Crossing
3: Millhopper (where I work)
4: Jonesville (Newberry/NW130th area, I think)
5: 13th Street
6: Butler's Plaza

and probably more that I forgot about...
