Any programs to organize mp3s?

I'm wondering if there's any software available that will organize mp3s into folders by artist or something similar? I have so many MP3s but 90% of them reside in one huge folder. This would take me hours and hours and hours and hours and hours to organize. Renaming the files to something consistent would be cool, but top priority now is directory organization.

I have all my music in one folder... (4400 some songs?)

It's not that bad is it? I just hit whatever letter the artist's name begins with and boom, I'm almost there :)

The greatest problem with "directory organization" that I have is that it's harder to create playlists. That is, unless my directories are by genre instead of by artist.

I'd really like to have mine in folders though. Just by band, not albums or genres or anything since most of my stuff is one or two genres anyway. It's also easier when I have people over so they can just browse bands and throw on whatever music they want.

I always try to shoot fro at least 128kbps. I don't hear any better quality higher than that. Preferrably 160. And ALWAYS constant. Although you get smaller files, you also get slightly sometimes distorted sound and crisp speakers. Just deal with the extra 300k per file.

My 750+ cd collection I just ripped was all done variable and it turned out great.

Well...i'm very picky about the sound of my music. I can hear the little distortion in my headphones and stuff. But that's just personal preference.

Ameesh, am I missing something? I know that WMP can sort the PLAYLIST like that. I want the MP3's physically organized, not just virtually.
