Any programs that test out 5.1 capability aside from powerdvd, windvd, etc.?

I'm testing out my new Megaworks 510d that I got in today. Turns out the version of powerdvd I have doesn't output 5.1. At this point, I just want to test out the system to make sure it outputs 5.1 before I go buying the upgraded powerdvd. My question is are there any programs I can download for free that test out ac3 (5.1) output on my system? Not particularly for dvds. I just want to see if I can output ac3. Thanks.
