I'm not a progammer, but I have a few friends who I work with who are programmers and use this cool encryption dll that is a free download. Anyways, just wanted to pass it along.

They have a web demonstration that I have used to for with coworkers as well.

Ross Encryption

I'm sure they are hundreds of similair products out there that may even be better, but thought this one was cool with the web demo thing.

No kidding. Some of the smartest mathematicians in the world work at universities to solidify publicly available algorithms and .net has a nice suite giving you access to some of them. Using anything else (especially something as sketchy as this) is stupid.

I think DSmith is Ross.

Edit: his only other post contains a subtler but still odd link to the same place.

Well, lol, I am a new registant, but unaffiliated with that site. Now maybe if I was getting paid, I may take some false credit, ;) Just wanted to post a cool site (in my opinion with that web demo) that a few fellow friends recommended. I have no clue how good or crappy it is.

I know, I'm not accusing him of anything. It just seemed kind of odd so I pointed it out.

as Kamper has stated, vb.net has pretty nice encryption that you should definately try.. its in system.security.cryptography name space. it has RSA , DSS, MS Exc, and DHS

easier, more powerful, and more flexible.

Proprietary encryption algorithms are rarely a good idea.

Yea, cryptography is probably the most complicated area of computer science right now so trusting random people on the Internet who won't even post the math behind their ideas is really scary.
