The AnandTech pricing guide says the X800 is the price/performance sweetspot. I'm considering the ASUS A8N family of motherboards. I might go with the A8N SLI premium due to the chipset cooling feature. If I do, I suppose the Nvidia cards are the way to go even if there is only a slight possibility that I would run in SLI mode.
