I am buying a new PC in the next week or so, and want to get a OCZ Vertex 120 GB SSD with it. Only problem is, this drive is _just about_ to ship, but isn't shipping yet. I can't really wait a week, since I need the computer within a few days, and I can't count on the drive being available in that time frame.
I was thinking of just getting a regular 640 GB 7200 RPM Western Digital drive, installing my OS and everything I need on that and running it for a week or two, and then creating a drive image and swapping it all to my new SSD when I buy that in two weeks.
My question is: due to the way that the physical specifications of SSD are different than spindle drives, will there be any problem taking my drive image and transferring it to the OCZ Vertex? I will be running Vista x64 SP 1.
Thanks!
