I have a 1 TB hd, keyboard, mouse, vista, and dvd-rom already. It's purely for gaming and small things like microsoft office.

I originally wanted a ~1000 budget(not counting monitor), but I went about 300-400 over. The video card wouldn't be considered overkill would it?

Thanks!

I'd look for a 2ms response-time monitor. I noticed a difference when I had two different LCD's simultaneously plugged into the back of my 1900XTX - 1st a 7ms lcd 2nd a 2ms. Repeated boots shown the 2ms showing first. And plus, it being for gaming...

For only a few $ more, you can get a Thermalright Ultra 120 eXtreme e.g. on an X6800 On a 1366 the eXtreme wins again. Product here. And the shipping is fast. I'd opt for the lapping option.

MicroCenter has the i7 920 for 230$ btw - bought mine there 3841A. You can ask them to look for which lot batch you prefer and they'll look for you.

Other than that, its lookin good ;)
