Any problems pairing a DVD drive with 3DLabs Wildcat 4?

My friend swears that it won't work. He wants a DVD burner in his Dell (dual Xeon, Wildcat graphics rendering), but he's telling me that he's been told the OpenGL card and the DVD drive won't play nice. Can this card not output DVD video?

I know nothing about the Wildcat and don't know where to find compatibility information. Does anyone know about this?

I remember reading something about some 3DLabs cards having issues with hardware overlays (perhaps they don't support?), but in any event, the people you need to ask are here.

It would almost certainly work with a DVD player that can decode and display in software. Hardware acceleration/overlay might not function; that's unlikely to be a big feature on a workstation card.
