Any Problems Associated With Having HD's Stacked Too Tightly?

I have enough drive bays in my machine that I usually leave an empty one seperating my harddrives. I am going to be adding a new one though, and I was just wondering if there might be any problems that are associated with having them stacked right on top of one another. Interference, cooling or airflow problems, or anything else.

Heat is the only problem you'd run into that I'm aware of. You will shorten the life of your drives if air can't flow around them well enough to keep them cool.

Agreed; heat is going to be your enemy. Perhaps consider a cooling solution such as THIS. I happened to find this particular item at CoolerGuys.com for $5.95 ea. :)

The better cases have an intake fan located in front of the hard drive bay. If your case has a spot for one - use it.
