Any problem with just swapping out a mobo leaving everything else the same?

I'm swapping out mobos (bad HD controller) but plan on leaving everything else the same. I'll pull everything off the old board and put it on the new DIFFERENT board. New one is Via, old one was Sis

I've built lots of computers but have never done this.

Win 2000 should recognize everythig . I have all the drivers

Anyone done this? Any potential problems I should be aware of?

Thanks,

Dan

I've done this several times in the past moving from EPoX to Asus boards on several computers but have had unstable systems thereafter in 1-2 cases. A format usually fixes the problem.
