Any problem letting tea sit in a thermos overnight?

I just started workin at 6AM and to help me wake up, I have also started drinking green tea in the morning. Its healthy as hell and I like the taste, plus it has a little caffeine to get me going.

I just bought a Thermos brand metal thermos with metal liner. It says it will keep liquids cold or hot for 24 hours.

I am usually pressed for time in the morning, so I wonder if it would be a problem to make the tea the night before and then just let it sit in the thermos for 8 hours or so while I'm asleep.

Any ideas?

The polyphenols that make up a third of the weight of the tea leaves will react negatively with the High Denier Textile lining of the Thermos. I'd suggest brewing a fresh cup before you ready to consume.

If that was total BS, you fooled me.

It'll be fine. I've drank 3 day old tea before which was sitting on the counter.. tasted like crap, but didn't kill me.

IIRC, tea plays host to bacteria quite well.

Why don't you make a pitcher of tea the night before, refridgerate it, and microwave a cup of it in the morning?

I want to bring a whole bunch to work with me the next day.

I'll just continue to make it at work. No biggie :)
