Any problem having a fan too close to gpu?

Hello, I am finishing a new build and was hoping for some quick input about one of my fans. Measured the GPU and the clearance between fan #2 and gpu is about 5mm.

Are there any issues with having a perpendicular fan so close to the GPU?

I can hook it up to a separate channel on my fan controller and adjust speed as needed, but was wondering if anyone has any feedback to share. Here's a pic:

thanks in advance!

thanks a lot for the quick reply Lehtv.

It's an Gtx680 Direct CU II Top.

I still need to install the mobo, but I did a quick test and with fan #2 installed its a very very tight fit, almost no room to tilt the card while installing in the PCI slot, it might fit, but I am still checking for clearance.

I think all of the 680s have vertical power connectors but its worth checking just in case. Don't want a wire getting in the way of somewhere you want to place a fan.

thanks for the heads up. wires will not get in the way tho, biggest concern right now is if I will have enough room to install the card with the fan there, will report results in a bit.

installed everything, still need to play around with case fan speeds to find a good combination, but it did fit. less then 2mm clearance but no issues. thanks for the help!

wouldnt matter even if touching. My top GPU PCB is touching my top hard drive and has been working fine that way for 2 years.

quick pic of my progress, still finishing cables. sorry for the quality, not enough lights at this time.
