I love Pride. Well, I love almost all MMA. I'll actually be at a local MMA show on the 5th. But I have most of the prides and ufc's on dvd and we throw huge partys around here for them all the time on PPV. I love it so much I'm working on getting me a fight by our next local show.

My favorite has got to be Fedor Emelianenko... he has this almost intangible ability to evade any and all of his opponent's attempts to win.

It's pretty similar overall, except...

It's in Japan, and a HUGE event... Sometimes nearing 100k spectators.
They fight in a ring, instead of a cage. (Which actually, is more interesting, imho... It eliminates the technique of pinning your opponent against the cage and then ground and pound.)
You can kick/knee someone on the ground.
Imho, PRIDE has the more skilled fighters (i.e. Cro Cop, Wanderlei, the Emelianenko brothers, etc... But they also have a few of the least skilled.

Love Pride, It's HUGE over in Japan. But actually K1 is even more popular in Japan. Pride has all the good Brazilians. Top fighters from all around the world. UFC doesn't compare. With this ultimate fighter TV show, UFC is starting to get kind of lame. Marketing and personalities of fighters seem to be more important to Dana White.

To get back on topic, some of my favorite Pride fighters are CroCop, Minotauro, Takanori Gomi, Shogun...
Favorite K1 fighter is Genki Sudo. Favorite UFC fighter is Rich Franklin.

It was bound to happen. It just kind of sucks the way he lost though. He needs to improve his ground game. Still a beast. He's lost to BJ Penn and someone else before too but not in Pride.

Usta think the UFC guys were tough, then watched Chuck Liddell get his arse whupped by Rampage Jackson. ..... ka - POWW !!! I had never seen Pride before but now FSN is carrying it on extended cable on Sunday nights. So I'm thinking, ohh this black guy is in for a world of hurt .. then reality set in and Chucky's corner was throwing in the towel to end it FAST.

how does that work? i never seen a view on all the pride fights i watched.
