If so did you ever use the pod that came with the video card to view or convert any VHS tapes to your PC? I'm trying to find a way to copy my VHS tapes to my PC and covert into a MPG files so I can watch on my PC or even convert to VCD so I can view on my TV. Im running Windows XP and need to know if this can be done with the Video card I have and what software I need to use.

BTW... Can anyone confirm the Voodoo 3-3500 will run on Windows XP and if so were to D?L drivers.

Thanks!

Drivers for the Voodoo 3 for Windows XP aren't official, but at voodoofiles they have a few 3rd party drivers that does work. I myself have a V3 2k and I use IceDriver2 and glide, opengl, and direct3d all work great for me.

I've done that with my 3500TV card many times. The pod is pretty nifty, just too bulky someetimes. You get better quality if you have a VCR with s-video outputs.

What im hoping to do is connect my camcorder up to the pod and find away to save it to a format that can be viewed on the PC? Does that sound right?

Yea, the Visual Reality program saves videos in either .mpg or .avi formats. You can play them through normal windows media player too after that. You might have to tweak some recording settings though, somtimes i've had problems with synchronizing the audio with the video. Can't quite remember the optimum settings since i'm not using the 3500TV anymore, i got my GF3 Ti200 🙂 I can't wait to try out the 8500DV though.

my 3500 has always SUCKED for recording from the TV. never tried it with the other inputs. No matter how I tried it, the sound wouldn't match the action on screen, or the picture was terrible, or there was no sound. I need a new card!

i had a v3-3500 for a year and it was a great card! iloved the tv! it was better than the previous ati all in wonder i had.. however, the pod.. i caleld it the pod of death, was raelly anoying and bulky for something that i didn't use frequenty.. you can also plug in your game console on it too, but the resolution wasn't too great though..
