Any post-Christmas bigscreen tv hot deals?

StageLeft

No Lifer
This isn't a hot deal, so it's not for the HD forum - unless somebody has one. If you're aware of any likely significant discounting on a bigscreen (50"+ widscreen) for a final price of $1000-1500 please post here!!

I wish I had jumped on that. If I KNEW I wasn't going to get the Zenith then I would have definitely jumped on it.

Skoorb you're killing with all of this talk of big screens. 😉 It's driving me crazy me that I can't get one right now because of other priorities but everytime I watch a movie at home I envision it on a new, glorious HDTV...*sigh*

For the longest time I told myself that i didn't need a big screen...that my 32" is fine

and then my dad gets one FREAKING GIVEN to him for xmas from his brother and I had to hook everything up to it yesterday....

I think i'm going to blow my tax return on one (with a good surround sound system)

ROSSMAN: What are you getting? I REFUSE to pay retail for a tv right now. I should have jumped on the $999 for the RCA one at bestbuy (now $1300). No, it's not a top of the line tv by any stretch, but it would have sufficed.

I'm ready to drop the hammer on this if anybody has any good deals worth mentioning!

I doubt I'll buy anything but I WANT to buy a big screen TV.

First I'll check out the sales circulars for this weekend, BB, CC, Good Guys, etc.

Next I'll see if Home Video Library, Magnolia HiFi or Video Only wants to PM against the big boys.

Finally I'll check out CostCo B&M to see their selection.

There's a SH!TLOAD of big screen and Plasma TV's at our local CostCo B&M.

There's this Toshiba 50" projection TV for $799 but I'm not sure if I should get it or not.

Word. The web site shows like 1% of what's actually in the store.

Our Sony projection TV just died just before reaching it's 9th anniversary of loyal service.

Thanks for pointing that out, I didn't even notice that Skoorbie referred to CostCo ONLINE.

PowerMac4Ever speaks the truth, the online CostCo shows 1% of what the actual stores have. Definitely check out Sam's Club and CostCo before making a large purchase.

I think you can get a trial membership for $5/day at Walmart for Sam's Club.

Something like that. Call and ask them.
