This week I have averaged 8 hours a day at the rec center at my college playing pool. I am the money leader so far in wednesday night 8 ball tournaments, $175. :D

Who else is a pool hall junkie? I think to qualify you have to average like 3 hours a day.

Used to play with friends, about 2 hours a week but that was ages ago.

It's a good thing to since I suck at pool.

Ok got a great pool story for you guys. First of all if you dont know the guy, go here.... Bert Kinister

My cousin is a bartender at some bar somewhere in Flossmoor, IL. The bar was having a slow night and a man came in with a buddy. My cousin thought the man looked familiar but couldnt put his finger on who it was. The friend left early saying "See you later, Bert." Immediately my cousin thought "No, it cant be" and kept serving drinks. Bert was now at the bar stool just chilling while my cousin was working behind it. Casually my cousin says "You dont happen to be Bert Kinister are you?" Bert said he was. My cousin was literally crappin his pants. He then said "Man... I tried buying a video of yours the other day, but I didnt have the $20 on me." They were talking about all the greats in pool, and then Bert got up to leave. He said, "oh. Whats your address?" My uncle gave it to him. 3 days later BAM! the whole 44 INSTRUCTIONAL VIDEO SET of this guy, which if you look at the site, its worth $650. A note attached said "To Kenny, my favorite bartender". My cousin freaked out from that. He went back to work and within a couple of weeks, Bert came back in.

"Did you get the tapes?" My cousin said he did and Bert asked "have you been practicing with the techniques". Again my cousin said yes. "Well why dont you swing by tomorrow at 2 and show me what you got" as he hands my cousin his address. Holy Sh!t my cousin thought. He went over to Bert's place and played a few games. And now where is my cousin and his relation with Bert you may ask?

Hes currently on Bert's travelling TEAM!!!!! How friggin awesome is that?

Im only in college but ive been playing a lot of pool and have a table back at home. But yeah, thought you avid pool players would get a kick out of the story. Im impressed.

There was a time when I averaged around 30+ hours a week at the pool hall.

When I lived in the dorms, my roommate and I would play all the time. It was free, so 2 or 3 hours a night was no big deal. Now that it costs money... well, I don't play so much.

I used to play a lot... wasn't ever a junkie though. I managed to run the rack against a friend of mine playing 8-ball. That was pretty sweet.

Back when I hit up the bars, I'd play probably 10-15 hours per week. Due to current financial standings, I have not played in months.

Marty that is a sweet ass story and I'll tell you why! The guy that has been teaching me lately at my college, his name is Larry Watts. He tours mostly PA and NY, and is in the top 25 shooters in the area. What is great about your story is that Bert is Larrys mentor! I have heard so many great stories from Larry about Bert. I have absolutely fallen in love with the game since I have been shooting with veterans like Larry, who has played for over 30 years. Larry said he would try to get Bert to come down to our campus and do some work with the students, that would kick ass.
