I'm 100%. Both parents were born in Poland. I can speak the language, but I can't read or write it. Well, I was able to read the few Polish words in this thread... but that doesn't really count.

No I'm not polish, but I worked in a Die Shop in Hamtramck for a couple of years. I know about a hundred odd words.

The big, <insert 'dumb' if you like> Polish potato farmer that lived next door to my Grandma in 1950 sold his 500 acre farm for $1000/acre and moved to Florida, never to be seen or heard from again.

I have always thought of him when people start to say ..... 'dumb Pollock'

Yep, I'm Polish. I'm also a pretty fair cook of Polish food. Don't eat it too much though because it tends to contain enough lard to give the entire population of Brazil a stroke :(

I'm either 100% Polish or part German and Russian mixed in, depending on where the border was and where exactly my ancestors lived. Maternal grandmother was born in Bochnia, but my original family name (translated now to Rush) is Pospiech from near Posnan. Maternal grandfather may have some Russian blood. No records exist that anyone has been able to find as they were probably destroyed in the war.

Don't speak the language, but I do love the food. I need to learn to cook it to keep the traditions alive.

And now, I am VERY far from Europe! :)
