I have a Radeon LE (either that or it's a DDR 32MB - it came clocked at 166). This card will do 183 easy. At 166 my 3dMark2001 score is about 3240 and at 183 it's 3410 (approximate scores).

Do I gain anything by overclocking my card when what I mostly do is web browsing? Is an overclocked video card going to make my machine seem any faster?

If all your doing is routine web browsing and office work then there is absolutely no purpose whatsoever to overclocking.

There are definitely areas besides games in which it would be nice to overclock, but regular Windows usage in web browsing and office apps won't see any gain at all from overclocking.

BTW, if it came stock at 166/166 then it's probably a regular Radeon 32MB DDR, not a Radeon LE.

no kidding..

if all you do is web surf.. Why are you even concerned about your 3D Mark score?

Dont tell me you are all into the hype as well..

people sicken me.. all they worry about is their damn 3D Mark score...

Play some games for once, and get your money out of the card!!!

If you mostly do web browsing, sell that Radeon and get a Matrox Gx50.

Why do some users overclock their video cards? Does it really help with games, or is it more of a benchmarking/3dMark2001 thrill?

True...very true...Just can't see why most of the people that I know thinks that 3dmark2k1 is the be all and end all in the video industry. :D
Use it to bench for stability and that's it. Why compare 2000 and 3000 points?? Bragging rights is fun. :D
