My roommate borrowed my Kyocera Knife, and was careless. They are very brittle, so the tip broke off and fell into the disposal. I was going to pay a guy t fix it tomorrow, but I am sure It is pretty simple, and some here knows how.Originally posted by: HomeBrewerDude
What's stuck in there?
IF its just jammed, there is usually a little hex nut drive that you can use to manually twist free of the obstruction.

I haven't had one out in ages, don't use one on our home either, but I believe there's a 'snap ring' holding it. Once you loosen the three screws, it should relieve the tension, and allow you to work the snap ring loose. I'll see if I can find a diagram...
Got it!

You guys are fantastic.
I think even before I remove it, I can loosen the stuck object with a special wrench. Of course, I don't have that wrench. Is it a standard allen wrench or what? I may have another tool that will loosen it.
the bearings could also have gotten dry and warped, this would also cause the same "jamming" as having obstructions (it's usually cheaper to just replace the disposal if that's the case)Originally posted by: glen
I got it off of the sink, and I was able to get one of the pieces out. I re-installed it, and it worked for a few seconds, then I could hear it jam again. I can?t see anything stuck in the upper section, where the blades are, so there must be moving parts below where another piece is stuck, right?
