Any places to get free background checks?

My brother and I just aquired a new room mate who moved in this weekend....Funny thing was he came with a background check in hand! We were like whoa...you should've checked that out before you gave us a deposit...Anyways....just for kicks, we want to return the favor and check him out now...(without the $50 fee i'm seeing everyone online....)...anybody know where we can get some free info?
