Pawn shops? Heh..

We have a place called Stuff! here in Portland, Oregon that is basically a pawn shop for all things electronic. Kinda cool.

You could always try ebay, but make sure to do a subsearch for your particular region. There are a good number of ebay sellers that are open to a pickup in the interest of saving shipping charges.

If anyone in WA buys a 4L off them I can give you a couple of opened toner carts free (my 4ML died after 10 years).

how reliable are these guys? i saw a couple of cheap systems that look rather tempting for my parents :)

I'd suggest just buying a new one from a B&M when there's a hot deal...I got my ML430 for like $90 from CompUSA.

Edit: ML1430, I didn't buy a Mercedes from Compusa!

i can't wait that long:(

and argh, according to many reviews, it seems the 5l's are susceptible to grabbing more then one page after the rollers wear out. wonder if this place replaces those parts.

He doesn't want to pay ridiculous shipping fees.

Guess I should have scrolled down. $54 shipping for a printer? It wasn't that bad a few years ago.

That is probably not the rollers wearing out, but rather the restraint pad. It was a simple, inexpensive repair on the older HP Laserjets.

odn think the refined search works by linking like that. i did it manually, there were a few in my area. one rapes with shipping of 40 bux regardless of location, what bull. and the other one is broken lol:)

Look in your phone book for laser printer service & cleaning companies. Each one usually has at least a dozen of them they are trying to get rid of...
