The arrow will spend 6.7 seconds in the air.

assuming it's an elven longbow fired by a lvl 4 ranger

*EDIT* i forgot, who happens to be spherical (for mathematical purposes)

For these dumb math problems, they seem to want people to get the exact answers while conveniently ignoring details such as the Earth being round, there being air, objects having lift, etc.

They probably want a pure physics answer with vectors, velocities and accelerations without any other variables. Sort of like spaceflight.

Plain and simple -- you must understand the simple underlying physics of any problem. As long as the assumptions are made clear, these types of kinematic trajectory problems are excellent as far as learning goes.

6.7 was right for the first part just plugged it into the homework system. Dont really know how you got that lol

Just do a search on "compound motion". Since it's 45 degrees it's easier to figure out since your initial vertical and horizontal velocities will be the same.

Yea it sucks when the damn professor doesnt work out many problems in class to get you acquainted with the material.

You'll need to know how to solve problems like these in your sleep. You'll be encountering much of the same steps later on.

Yea I know i'm really struggling in this class...havent had a physics class since high school and that was almost 6 years ago. Anyways thanks for the help all.
