Any PHP scripts that list the contents of directories in old-school FTP format?

What I'm looking for is a PHP script that will emulate the look and feel of a page like http://www.apache.org/dist/httpd/ as closely as possible.

I do realize that mod_autoindex in Apache will do this for me, but unfortunately I'm not able to make use of it on the particular server I need the directories listed upon. I know, but I thought I'd throw out the gauntlet and avoid reinventing the wheel if at all possible.

You're telling me. I could have been done before I started if the damned http.conf let me use indexes wherever I want to.
