I need to know how to smooth out someone's skin. I am trying to edit out a tatoo. Can anyone help?

Duplicate layer > Filter > Add Noise > Median to about 5-10 > Add layer mask and use black brush and grays to parts you want to smooth out > Bring Layer Opacity to anywhere from 30%-75% to make it look natural.

[edit] Forgot to say the "Add Noise" step.
