Any photoshop gurus around? No, I don't need a logo designed.

I've got a website template that I'm using for all of our new websites at the department I work in. Here's what it looks like (kinda, this is an old pic, but the color scheme is right):

Unfortunately, I seem to have lost the PSD file that I had set for that color scheme - the dark blues, etc. Here are the three individual images for the "whole" PSD file:

Here is the PSD file I used to create them from:

I know I got those colors to show up using layer masking and hue/saturation balance, but I can't get it to work now, and I can't figure out how I got the appropriate color balance. Basically, working now, I can't get the colors to be "dark" enough, matching the "cvOnline" images.

Any pointers would be appreciated. I'm almost sure I did it using hue/saturation only, but like I said, I can't get the results I originally had. Bleh. I'm looking to re-create the color scheme seen in cvOnline, but with generic text, and in a PSD format so I can easily adapt it to different applications.

(this is the last time I misplace a PSD file)

I considered it, but don't like the look as much. The cvOnline look has been approved by our faculty (the big decision makers around here), and I honestly don't want to send another file to them for an approval. I'm a coder, not a designer. I feel like such a dolt for losing this file.

I'm confused, I thought the idea was to make the colors look like the top picture. What exactly are you trying to do?

The idea is to make it look exactly like the top picture. Your PSD has a light-blue circle going through it rather than the dark blue in the original.

I'm just trying to figure out WTF I did last time to get it to look how it does now.

Updated the file in the link in my above post. I also added a path around the oval shape to make editing that a lot easier.

Thanks. That looks pretty much ok - but I figured out how I did it in the first place.

(I know, I know, I'm a dolt)

I do appreciate the help though.

Next question: is there an easy way to split 1 PSD file into 3 PSD files? I have the PSD file I want now, but want to convert it into three so that I can easily convert the image to gifs and have it setup in tables to look right.

it's ultra-easy if you have the stuff in different layers. Select what you want in the first new image (with lasso, box-select, magic wand, whatever), and do Layer->New->Layer via Cut. Then you just have to be in one of the three layers you've just made, select the whole image, and Copy. It will only copy what is in the current layer, even though it looks like you're selecting everything in all layers. Then File -> New, and the new image size will automatically be exactly the size of what you just copied. (excluding all extraneous blank space) Then Paste. I hope this makes sense.

You could just Cut (rather than New Layer via Cut), but this way it keeps the original image intact too.
