Any photoshop experts here

Hi, I owe a friend some money from an old bet (How did the Flyers lose in the first round!?!). Of course I tried to get out of it and he said he'd drop it if I photoshopped a couple pics for him. I don't know why he thinks I am a photoshop expert just because I built my own PC, but I might as well accept the offer.

I downloaded GIMP since I don't have photoshop on my pc and I've heard that it's the best alternative. I tried messing around with the pic, but I really just ended up making it worst. I am terrible at photoshopping. I don't know how you guys do it.

Can anybody offer me some tips or do a quick job for me. I don't know what I could offer you though. I did write the Ultimate Muscle Training Guide if anybody remembers that and it means anything to you.

Regardless, here are the pics. I don't even know exactly what he wanted done to them. He just said to "enhance them" and take out any blemishes. It's worth a shot. These got scaled down, but I can email you full versions unless you know a place to upload them.

Is that basically the same as the real version? Is it better than GIMP because I can't figure out to enhance a picture for my life with that.

It's the same as the full version, but it only lasts for 30days. Upon which you can purchase a key for it.

He probably wants his skin tone to look the same all around, like if he was in a proactiv commercial or something, i could do it in a second, but I don't have photoshop on this computer..

Or maybe he doesn't want to look like a 14 year old coke head?

Correction: 16 year old cokehead. He is probably 17 actually, I don't know his birthday.

I just IMed him and he said to do the "normal stuff". Adjust color levels, balance, sharpnees, and contrast. Smooth out the skin, separate him from the background, whiten teeth, etc.

I don't know what he means by color levels. I guess saturation? Whenever I try to blur the skin or sharpen the picture, it comes out like crap. Any tips are appreciated and you'll be my (internet) hero if you can do it real quick. How much time are we talking for the whole job anyway?

yeah. if there's no real specifics, i'm just gonna run with this...and the results might not be all that pleasant (to him i mean; the atot community might get some giggles).

I can do it but takes about 30-45mins to do one. He pretty much wants you to airbrush it to look like the pictures you see in Playboy, Maxim, and other magazines.

EDIT: Dude is that a Hicky on the 2nd picture?

someone photoshop that cat in there, a photoshop thread without the cat is simply not a photoshop thread

I'd help you, but that's the kind of crap I have to do all day long and I'm not going to unnecessarily subject myself to that.😉

Tips for those trying: alt+click white and black points in your levels to see blown out areas, add a positive art layer for low-opacity painting (less is more), and retouch blemishes with the patch tool, not the stamp tool or other retouching tools. It offers the most control and preserves the most texture.
