Any performance differences between Slot K7 and Socket K7?

Want to find out if there is any preformance differences in AMDs K7 Slot Athlon and there socket Athlon?

The socket a athlons are a bit fastr(3-5%). If you are planing on geting a new cpu/mobo get socket a(slot a is obsolete).Also Mustang and the other new cores wil be compatible with socket a motherboards.
