Ever since I moved out late 2001, in my 3 different places of living I have only used an antenna. I dont really watch enough tv to justify getting cable, nor did any of my roomates.

I watch quite a bit of TV, but everything I need is on ABC, NBC, FOX or MPT (all free). I would like the weather channel and Discovery but they aren't worth $50 a month and the hassle of dealing with a cable company.

You suck. I wish Time Warner would do that. I don't watch much more than basic cable, but I don't want to lose cable because I like ESPN, Comedy Central, Discovery, and Fox News.

Yep ... dropped satellite last Jan.
That's still an antenna, but I know what you mean 😛
I just don't watch enough TV to bother paying for it.

I use only antenna...one of those amplified ones that gets me a better signal 🙂 works good enuff for me...do miss comedy central though 🙁

We cancelled our cable a couple months ago.
Now we watch very little tv. Just a couple of shows.
That and Netflix.

I use mine to get over-the-air HD broadcasts. Then I use my sat to get the other 2000 chennels I don't watch 😀

I have antenna for TV and Comcast cable modem for internet 🙂 I got a deal from them that they give me a discount price of $35 without requiring basic cable subscription.
I get good reception on PBS, and I stopped watching other stations aside from occasional NBC shows which I also get over the antenna.

Time Warner is just plain evil. All they have is free installation for their digital service for cable internet customers.

I can't even get a Time Warner rep to admit that they have basic cable available. They must get incentives to sell the digital package, now.

I use an antenna to get the local HD channels.

The GREAT thing about digital broadcasts is no more snow, ghosts or anything like that. It's on, or it's off. So even a weak signal looks the same as a strong one.

Antenna, but the signal sucks so I torrent to shows I want to watch. (Smallville and Enterprise)

The only stations that come in really good where I live is FOX and CBS. FOX is the best station of the bunch that I actually do catch, so I dont mind the other ones coming in poor.

Probably, I asked what was the cheapest package that they had that had ESPN in it. They proceded to try and sell me their digipix and Star packages for a hundred or so a month. I asked again ok, if I only wanted one cable channel, ESPN, how much is the bare minimum it will cost a month...Their answer 44 a month. I told them that I could get the dish network package for 29.99 a month including ESPN and they acted like they could care less. I'm sorry but I'm not going to spend 44 a month to watch ESPN during football season.

Right there with you. 🙂

I think it's silly. One of my friends was paying 110$ a month for cable and was complaining about nothing on TV to watch. If I'm watching enough TV to where I'm bored of it, it means I should be doing something else.

If I ever was to get cable, it would only be when cable/sat companies aren't forced to package 300 channels for the 3 channels I may want.
