Any PCI Sound Cards that Don't Use 2 IRQs?

I have installed SB Lives, SB this and that . . . and every damn one of the new PCI cards forces installation of the SB16 Emulator. This can be disabled in Device Manager, but that sucks! Who needs to see a red X!

Does anyone know of a PCI sound card that does NOT require such a useless DOS legacy emulator?🙁

That's pretty sad to not buy a product because you'll need to see a red X in your device manager that has no effect on the system.

Unfortunately, about half of the SB PCI128s out there do not have driver support in Win2k, and they never will. Mine is one of them 🙁

It may be sad, but I hate to pay for a work around. I just wish that Creative would simply put a switch or a jumper on the card so that could be a user removable option.

On balance, I surmise thast the answer to my question is "no." 🙂
