Pretty broad request. What genre of games do you enjoy (action, RPG, strategy)? I am playing Deus Ex right now and have never played another computer game this compelling. It's been out a while so you should be able to find it fairly cheap.

If you're into sports games i recommend NHL 2001.

Sports aside, Black and White is a must have game! Baldur's Gate is also a great game.

Also don't forget that you might want to get Quake 3 and Unreal Tournament for non stop multiplayer fun!

You can check out Gamespot and also IGN for all the pc game reviews.

You can try:

Alice (a darn lengthy game)
Clive Barker's Undying (processor hungry, Unreal engine)
Project IGI (interesting and something different, but tough)
Serious Same (fast and crazy. gets boring though)

Quake (an awesome, spooky game with excellent level design)
QuakeII (as above but not quite as good as Quake)
Half-life (excellent story)
Quake3-Arena (the best multiplay there is)
Unreal (excellent graphics and so-so game play)
Unreal Tournament (very fun in multiplay mode)

If you like Half Life, try Gunman Chronicles, it runs on the same engine & looks pretty good.

Other good ones:
Blade of Darkness (3rd person swordplay medieval type game)
Ino (3rd person shooter with hand to hand combat)
Hostile Waters (Very good RTS, with a bit of a twist)
Alice (mentioned earlier)
Serious Sam (very intense, no excuses FPS)
System Shock2 (Older game, but very good. one of my personal favorites)
Conflict Zone (I don't know if its out yet, but looks like a good RTS)

EDIT: Just saw a vote for Rune...also an EXCELLENT game. To mchammer187, if you liked Rune, try Blade of Darkness.

Where are you going back to? Sounds like some place in Asia, 'cause that would be the only place you can get a plenty of games for a low price(pirated).

Hitman is a pretty fun game, I also have been having alot of fun with Baulders Gate II after picking it back up. Oh and if you already have Half Life check out the mod for it Day of Defeat. Its a great WWII mod. Incase you need to know where it is, its at www.dayofdefeatmod.com
