I posted this a couple months ago with no avail... but imma try once again.... With all these new 533 P4's coming out.. im having an itch to upgrade but im broke!!!! I know my P4 1.8 can run at 2.4 because i used to have a P4B266 but now i have a P4T-E which doesnt lock the dividers... I need someone to do the wire trick for me. I'll pay them of course... I would attempt it on my own but i tried to do it before and ended up frying my cpu and mobo so i am don't wanna risk doing that again.. Anyone up for the job?! This will get rid of my itch for an upgrade.... Thanks in advance

Saw the title of this thread and thought someone bumped a 3 month-old thread up to the top! Hope you have better luck this time.

hehe.. yea i figure i'd start another thread... can't hurt trying! thanks for the bump... soooooooo... is there anyone that wants to help out a fellow AT'er !!!?!

Why dont you cut a small wire & drop it into the socket?

It's much easier than trying to loop a wire around the cpu pins.

Go to your autoparts store and buy a rear window defogger kit. Get the one made by permatex for ~10bux. Look at the pictures on hexus.net or whereever it is and connect the dots with the defogger paint using a tooth pick. Ive done 4 like this so far . It takes about 10 minutes which includes the dry time 😱

I take the defogger and get it painted with the toothpick. Then clean between the pins I dont want painted using a clean toothpick and sometimes some alcohol if needed.
