Any overclockable microatx mobo for Athlon XP 1600?

Does anyone know if there exist a microatx mobo that can be overclocked? I have an Athlon XP 1600 (couldn't resist Newegg selling it for $56.99 with free shipping)...If there's none that can be overclocked, just suggest any microatx mobo that supports Athlon XP..Thanks in advance..

I don't know of any mAtx boards that overclock. mAtx is made to usually be all in one or fit a small case. But if you must have a mAtx board look at these....

The KM266 chipset board from Shuttle, not the fastest but cheap and will do what you need, also has AGP port.

The nForce chipset board from Abit, it will be a little better than the KM266 but will still not overclock well, and cost a little more.

Those are the 2 that come to mind.

Mwave.com has the Asus A7N266-VM for 72$ (I paid 89$ 3 weeks ago from Newegg :| ) The Nforce is by far the king of the mATX all-in-ones right now because it uses the g2MX for video and it has the AGP slot to upgrade, very good Dolby digital sound (the S/PDIF Out bracket is included) also it has support for even the XP2200+ That's the pro's on it now here's the con's Manual is terrible as it lists the bsel0&bsel1 jumpers backwards, the AApanel1 is shown wrong, and it says there is a clear CMOS jumper but there isn't. It will not overclock and the memory performance is disappointing if you don't use 2 sticks to take advantage of the dual channel DDR feature. also it's a pain to setup with win98SE so XP or w2k would be recommended. I couldn't make the on-board LAN work with my router either In the end for 72$ I think it's your best bet in the mATX market at the moment and it's preset for the 266fsb XP and DDR2100 by default so you don't need to mess with the jumpers.

Not only that, but it does have an AGP slot for if/when you want more 3D power, and you can revert to the onboard AGP again when you finally hand it down to your mom/dad/sister/sweetie 😀 Actually, being a 220D board and not a 415 or 420, it should go equally well with one or both memory slots occupied. 3-year warranty, too 😀

I went into Control Panel and enabled nView's "transparent windows" feature, and it works well (my GeForce2 GTS-V card has this option greyed out! 🙁). Apparently the memory bandwidth is adequate for that little goodie.

thanks for the replies guys, i forgot to post that my existing RAMS are pc133 (2 x 256 mb) ...i ended up ordering an ECS mobo that supports the kind of memory i got...

Hey, I've built a couple rigs using the K7SEM and as long as it isn't for gaming or you are using sound and vid cards in it if you are I think it,s a great little board.

Well I returned the ECS mATX ($59) and ordered the ABIT KG20 which has dipswitch for adjusting the fsb...I got it for $49 with free shipping. aint bad huh? 🙂 I got an XP 1600 ($56 @ Newegg.com) CPU for it..
Now I have another problem, the price of XP 2200 just went down to $146 from $200+...do you think the 2200 is as overclockable as the 1600? Do you think it is worthy to spend $90 more?

Where did you buy the KG20? BTW the 2200+ requires monster cooling at default speed and Vcore and most don't get much extra juice out of them anyways. I have the 1600+@1.75ghz 1.73v and it''l probably go at least 1.850ghz with better RAM.

I got it from here...

I got a spare Corsair 2400 & Swiftech MCX462-U which I can use just in case I need to overclock...
You know what? this is supposed to be a pc just for my kids but it looks like im gonna end up spending alot of $$ again.. 🙁
..I think Im gonna stick with the xp 1600..I hope ill be able to get 1700+ ghz out of the xp 1600 like you did DPunisher..

I can't wait for Labor Day-- P4 2.4 Ghz is supposed to go down to $190....
