Any other ways to adjust gamma, besides RaidON?

i need to adjust my gamma (make it higher) when playing some games using GL. so i've been using raidon. and it's been working fine. but i'd like to be able to raise my gamma and lower it more simply, or even automatically, when playing some games.

are there any other programs that will adjust gamma?

btw, is adjusting gamma bad for your monitor?
