Any other Publix employees here?

Most Publix employees in my area are good. We do most of our grocery shopping at Publix. Question: Does Publix employ "special-needs" people to service the front end? I've noticed a trend among baggers . . .
 
my wife used to work in the bakery.

I used to be a vendor (wise potatoe chips..don't laugh:|) and can honestly say that out of supermarkets in FL, that Publix is the best, in cleanliness, quality, and customer service.

winn-dixie was the worst, then kash n karry, then albertsons. albertsons had good customer service but was dirty in the back in every store.
kash n karry was clean but the management sucked
 
Yay Publix. The new one in my neck of the woods is fabulous. HUGE "Greenwise" organic section! Decent sushi, too. 🙂

And OMG... Chocolate Overload Cake with fresh strawberries!!!!
 
I worked @ one for 5yrs from 14-19. (1987+).

Front End, Cashier, Stocker (Frozen Food). Then I quit. Bigger / better things.

It?s a very nice grocery store chain mostly located in Florida. They carry good products and offer excellent service at reasonable prices.

My wife works in the bakery for pin money. She likes the work but I-rate customers can be a pain. She usually puts them in their place without any difficulty though. 😉

It was actually rated one of the best companies to work for in some article that I don't remember. Oddly, there are a good number of people from Florida or in Florida that are very Publix-loyal in their grocery shopping (my family included). My mom now is without a Publix and she misses it and feels the other stores near her can't compare. I will go to the Publix down the street from me over other stores slightly closer.
 
Publix is a nice place to shop but as employers, they seem to compensate for their lazy employees by making the hard-working employees work harder.

ohh i've been to the south tampa one before, there are many trophy wives there and women looking to be trophy wives 😀
