any other games like star wars: kotor?

hey all, just wondering if there any games that play like KotOR.

i really liked how the game worked, battle, conversations, quests, and the open endedness. it was just really well put together. personally, the star wars story line is not my thing. i would have preferred a brand new universe.

for those who played it, i really liked the game anachronox. i thought the story was fantastic, although there gameplay issues. if anachronox could somehow be put on the kotor engine, that would be super cool.

if there is a game that has a story like anachronox (plus the humor) and plays like KotOR, please let me know.

suggestions? thanks!

ps. i usually play FPS and strategy games (war3, etc) so i dont know much about this type of game.

I've not played KOTOR, and I'm not a RPG fan in general.

What about Fallout/Fallout2? Sure, it's a old game with dated graphics, but it's pretty open-ended.

Some classics, but the view is "top down isometric" not 3D:

Fallout 1 & 2
Planescape: Torment

and to a lesser extent:
Baldur's Gate 1 - 2 and expansions

For 3D, there is Morrowind and (with less story) Neverwinter Nights
