I cant get frickin credit! Im 19, live with my parents, have NO bills, and make 25-30k a year.. and CANT CANT CANT get credit.. I tried applying in november.. and now i tried again today.. no instant credit.. but in 30 days i'll find out! Having credit would rock right now seeing as that i need a car! guh

Get a cell phone. You may have to pay a deposit, but it should be refunded after you have been paying your bills.

My 20 year old son who doesn't even have a job managed to get a CC and max it out. Now the collectors call the house several times a day trying to get blood out of a turnip.

I got my first CC at 19, $1,200 unsecured card. I put down $28K at the time (actually made 32K that year, but still...).

There's no reason you shouldn't be able to as well.

Try Sony CitiBank if you want an unsecured card, they gave me mine.

Or, get a secured card. Guaranteed credit.

Have you tried Capital One? They give credit cards to any loser that applies. Hell, they gave me three. Or, how about Providian? They aren't picky, either. They gave me two of them. Household bank is also pretty easy (have to be, they also gave me one).

just start a bank account in BanK of America or Washington Mutual or any big bank,
and apply for their credit cards.

btw: Sprint doesn't require deposit, AT&T and Cingular do, and if you have no credit, deposit is about 1000.
this is California.

No, and they are trying to make laws against what's happening to you. If you go to school, they'll give you tons of credit cards. They want you to have credit cards when they know you'll rack up the bills and not be able to pay them, but they won't give you cards when you are out of school because you'll be able to pay your bills. That's why I have 5 cards now (only use 2) and 3 are for backup when I get out of school, just in case one of the companies tries to screw me over.

Capital One and Cross Country Bank specialize in giving cards to people with no/bad credit. Yes you'll pay an annual fee, yes the interest rate will be high, yes the credit limit will be low but they usually approve most people. After 6-12 months of activity and paying on time, they'll start bumping the limit up. That's what I did after I was an idiot and screwed my credit up years ago. Now I'm back to the land of the credit worthy and can get just about anything I apply for.

And getting a cell phone does nothing for your credit except ruin it if you skip out on your bill. No entries go on your report if you pay properly.

Capital one here, started with absolutely no credit and got a $500 limit which has since been moved up to $1,000. I sure wish I had about a 3k limit because this would make life so much better. BTW, I have always paid it completely every month😀

Continuing to apply for credit isn't going to help matters much because of all the credit inquiries you're racking up.

Viper GTS and Russ are correct I would combine their advice and recommend applying for a SECURED CAPITAL ONE credit card, if you get declined then I dunno what to tell you ... other than don't apply for credit again for at least 12 months while those inquiries drop off your credit history.

i've only applied twice in almost 12 months.. never before that... and btw.. that was the link i followed... i shouldnt have anything on my record, and im afraid to check.. cuz thats one more mark on my record...

My credit sensor is a little off since I'm still broadbandless at home, once my DSL is back up and running my response time will get better.

😀

If you just want the card so you can buy stuff with a credit card, find a bank with a ATM/debit card.

If you want to just gain some credit, get yourself a gas card. You'll use it a lot(if you have a car) and it's now hard to pay off each month. Just make sure you pay it off and you'll gain a better credit record... slowly... 😀

hehe.. no clue which one i applied too.. gotta wait now i guess 🙁

edit.. btw.. i didnt flat out fail... i'll get a thing in the mail prolly that says i failed 😀

Er? You're not a student? They have those $1000 blance Visa's thatmost people get, thers also mastercard ones thatyou can sign up for at like stores liek Barnes & Nobles and stuff. I got approved for my first credit card when I was 18 w/ no credit...

When they say you'll get something in the mail, you failed. Try crosscountrybank and if that doesn't work, just get a secured one.

go to a jewelry store and get a card there and buy some jewlrey. i heard that its an easy way to get credit...they give those cards out to just about anyone, and they build up credit.
