Seems like Comcast is only partially online... at least here in southeast Michigan. No e-mail, no website, and limited access to web pages. Anyone else experiencing the same thing?

*EDIT* Using the following DNS servers should get you up and running again...

4.2.2.1
4.2.2.2
4.2.2.3

**EDIT** Comcast DNS crapping out again... and by the way, you may have to release/renew your IP address for these to work after you change them.

***EDIT*** How to change your DNS servers in Windows. - link provided by dragonballgtz, thanks.

Wide Open West had issues too, but seemingly it only affected the cable not internet side of things. Stupid power outages last week.

Comcast has been very reliable for me in the past... I guess a partial outage once a year isn't too bad. :)

I guess while I'm waiting for it to be back to 100% I'll fire up Steam and play some HL2... oh wait... :|

It has something to do with DNS, ping any server and it is fine. Steam works fine

How in the hell can a company just shutdown the phones when a problem is discovered? Is that legal?

I still have problems currently. Both dns servers applied went down. Neither were pingable nor was I able to negotiate any pages. Had to force DNS servers from another ISP. One of the DNS servers given by DHCP is still not responding. Sounds like major problems for them.

Those of you who are capable of forcing DNS servers, you can use 4.2.2.2. and EDIT 4.2.2.1 If you need other dns servers let me know.
