I thought the opening to Skyrim was not particularly engaging, but as I got further into the game I really enjoyed it. So maybe the OP should give it another chance and play a bit longer, or wait for some mods. But it is a different kind of game that I could understand some people might not like.

i didnt like morrowind or oblivion, but i'm enjoying skyrim. if your biggest beef was the leveling system (as mine was), then you may enjoy skyrim. it's closer to a traditional leveling system.

Good to know. Now I just need to find time to play it...

Basically a hipster nerd. You need to love bf3 but hate mw2, etc.

uh, no. A real gamer can play and enjoy most any game on any platform. Enjoying a video game for what it is.
If you limit your enjoyment to bias titles, platforms, graphics..etc. is more inline with the common ideology of a hipster. (bandwagon cool or "deck" as they say)
They rely on group peers and media to tell them whats cool. like PC BF3/MW3 only hipsters found here.
Where as a real gamer, like me loves them both on any platform.

My reference was towards Nebor for his preference of high action of MW3 over "boring" Skyrim. He can't enjoi both worlds. He just wants to own some "noobs" as he said. lol kids, sad for him, just glad i can enjoy both however.
Others are just mad cause their not real gamers and they know it. They play their limited PC selection, complain about it, tell others their preferences are wrong, say something "sucks" without explaination, unable to be skilled with a gamepad cause their too leet....etc.
whatever, have fun.

I remember way back when you could return a game if it sucked or did not work. Now you have to be careful or you will be stuck with a turd of a game.

You must be old :)

I remember those days - you could also rent pc games as well.

The employees at the software stores treated you like crap if you tried to return a game [comparable to returning something at a bay area Fry's store] because they think you played/finished the game.

So should I just stop playing PC games altogether? Please, pass down your judgement from on high, real gamer! And pity me, for I cannot enjoy what you enjoy, my walnut sized brain will not allow it!

Troll much?
But just for the hell of it; Are you really saying that you, the "Real Gamer (c)" like every game, on every platform and will play anything and enjoy it? Wow, I'm for sure not a Real Gamer then! I have what you can call personal taste, or preferences. I like certain games and think others are not fun/enjoyable, I guess that makes me a hipster. But I play many niche/obscure strategy games and find MW etc boring, so that's not very hipster by your definition? What am I!? I'm confused D: I thought general view was that hipsters follow something "you've probably never heard of", until it's mainstream and then it's not cool? You seem to be saying the oposite:confused:

In short; your post makes absolutely no sense. If the OP likes certain games but not others that's fine. Unfortunately he should probably have read some more about Skyrim before he bought it. Maybe he'll take that away from this at least.
