Any options with purchased PC game...

I may already know the answer to this questions, but here's to hope! 🙂

I purchased a PC game last week. I saw it demoed in store while purchasing some gifts and bought it. The game works fine and looks good, but I just don't like playing it.

According to the receipt, I am stuck. Are there any other options?

Thanks for the reply.

I realize that I cannot get my money back.

It's a steam game and has been loaded on my computer. Can I sale that online?

Nope; you can uninstall it and hope maybe there's an expansion/mod that'll make it more fun but that's about it.

If there'a bunch of reported bugs and glitches you might be able to convince Steam to give you a refund, but if it's running fine and you just don't plain like it you're SOL.

Just curious; what game did you get, anyway?

I remember way back when you could return a game if it sucked or did not work. Now you have to be careful or you will be stuck with a turd of a game.

If it didn't work legally you could probably get refunded (probably with way more effort than it'd be worth), but if you just don't like it you're probably out of luck as others mentioned.

Thanks for the info. I was hoping I was missing something.

The game is Skyrim.

Skyrim is a game with a MASSIVE fan base making tons of mods every day. What don't you like about it? Chances are a lot of little things can be changed via mods.

I played for less than 15 minutes after having preordered and downloaded the day it came out. It seemed boring.

Looks like I was 11 minutes off in my estimate. That included creating a character though.

Try the mods, seriously.

The game works if you let your self get engaged. If you as much as look at something else, the experience disappears. Magic of the first person effect...

This is partly why i have a PS3. I can rent a game i'm curious about first before buying the PC version. No console version or no Demo...i no buy.
Reviews and watching youtube vids of it also help.

Not sure if serious.

To be fair, Skyrim isn't for everyone. I have yet to play a Bethesda RPG that hasn't bored me to tears. That includes Skyrim. Granted, it was given to me as a gift, so I don't feel that bad about it. I only have about ~1 hour logged in it but I'll probably go back sooner or later to play around a little more.

But yeah OP, there isn't really anything you can do now. People do bring up a good point about the modding... TES games tend to get modded out the ass, and you could potentially make it into a totally different game.

At least OP is humble about it, and he isn't like that one guy who lives out in the boonies on a 56k connection, bought a Steam game, and then made a huge whine thread about how Steam is the worst piece of software ever, etc, lol.

Seriously, even with a giant dragon flying around it was boring. And it was like, I could spend an hour helping the stormwinds or the imperials, or I could pwn some noobs with my SMAW in MW3 and level up. Not a hard choice.

I haven't tried skyrim yet. I know I've tried Morrowind a few times and I just disliked leveling system.

Hope Skyrim system is different.

I am not saying it's not a good game. I have played a few hours of it. I not sure I can get into it. I tend to like FPS. I saw this game in GameStop and was impressed with it visually. The truth is, I wish I would have pick up MW3 or BF3. I think they would have suited me better.

i didnt like morrowind or oblivion, but i'm enjoying skyrim. if your biggest beef was the leveling system (as mine was), then you may enjoy skyrim. it's closer to a traditional leveling system.
