i signed up for cablevision and optimum online broadband in march, and had a promo thingie where i was paying $40 for tv and $30 for internet. that promo is good for 6 months, and now my internet bill goes up to $45 a month. cablevision doesn't hold their subscribers to contracts, so i was wondering.... could i just cancel both my tv and broadband service with them, then sign up again to take advantage whatever promo they have now (which is they give u a free all-in-one printer & 6 months @ $30)? anyone tried this before?

This is from the FAQ on their last promotion (MP3 player):
In order to receive your MP3 Player, you must meet the following requirements:

You must have completed an order for Optimum Online on the OptimumOnline.com website between 06/01/2004 and 07/31/2004
You must not have been an Optimum Online customer at any time within the 6-month period prior to your order date
Your Optimum Online service must be active for 45 continuous billing days with an account in good standing
Available only to existing Cablevision video customers
If you have met these requirements, then you are eligible to receive the MP3 Player

instead of dico'ing your service what I do is call them up and threaten to change to DSL and Satalite and they end up just giving me another 6 months of promo... did that for over a year when I had service in my name... sometimes they'd give me 3 months of promo sometimes it's 6... if they wont then cancel the service you can get DSL much cheaper than cable and Sat TV too...
